Premium Bolt Action Receivers

When building a bolt action rifle, the receiver is the main body of the rifle, holding everything together as it guides the bolt’s movements. It is the most important part of the rifle and if not made correctly, the rifle will not shoot as accurately or smoothly.

At 1934 Armory, we make Premium Bolt Action receivers for people who want the most accurate rifles on the market. We do not build complete rifles or firearms. Instead, we manufacture high-quality bolt actions and precision parts that fit seamlessly into the Remington 700 footprint.

Our customers include firearms manufacturers, gunsmiths, and competitive shooters who need strong, precise parts they can rely on.

What Makes a Premium Bolt Action Receiver

A receiver may look simple, but it must be made with extreme care and precision. A custom bolt action receiver needs to be strong, straight, and smooth so the bolt locks up the same way every time you fire a shot. A high-quality receiver helps create a precision bolt action rifle capable of consistent accuracy in any environment. The two biggest things that make a premium receiver is how it is machined and how it is protected from wear and rust.

Precision Machining and Tolerances

We machine our receivers from 416 Stainless Steel Action material. This type of steel is incredibly strong and rust resistant. It also allows these parts to be machined with extreme precision. One way to create the tightest tolerances is to cut using Wire EDM Raceways, an accurate cutting method that shapes the inside tracks where the bolt slides. Because of this process, the bolt moves smoothly, locks up evenly, parts are more resistant to wear, and the action has a smooth and consistent feel to it. When the bolt slides smoothly and locks up the same way each time, it helps give the rifle a more consistent feel and will shoot more accurately.

Our receivers also use an M16 style mechanical ejector. This helps push the spent cartridge case out of the rifle after firing. Reliable ejection is critical, especially for competitive shooters who need the rifle to work every time without hesitation when on the clock. Every receiver is carefully checked before it leaves our shop in Hanover, Pennsylvania.

Coatings and Corrosion Resistance

Metal parts need protection, especially if they are used outdoors where rain and humidity can cause issues. That’s why we offer a PVD Coated Action option, or Physical Vapor Deposition. It is a special coating that bonds tightly to the metal, making the surface harder and more resistant to wear and tear. It also protects from rusting and helps smoothly cycle the bolt. As hunters, competitors, and professionals who use their rifles in tough environments and weather, this added protection helps the receiver last longer and perform better over time.

Explore 1934 Armory 2-Lug vs. 3-Lug Bolt Actions: Choosing the Right Design

Bolt action receivers can be designed with either two or three locking lugs. Both are strong and safe, but they feel slightly different when you use them. Our 2-lug actions have a 90-degree bolt lift. This means you turn the bolt handle up farther before pulling it back. Our 3-lug actions have a 60-degree bolt lift, making them faster to operate.

PRS Bolt Action Competition

Many PRS bolt action shooters like the 3-lug design because of its faster cycling and clears larger scopes more easily. Some shooters prefer the traditional feel of a 2-lug action. At 1934 Armory, both designs are built with the same level of precision and care. The choice depends on how you plan to use your rifle.

Built on the Remington 700 Footprint

Our receivers are made using the Remington 700 footprint. This is one of the most common design patterns used in many rifle builds with a huge aftermarket support system for complete customization options. There are plenty of options for stocks and chassis systems, drop-in triggers, and easy parts integration across many companies.

Because this design is widely used, it gives builders more flexibility to customize the rifle to exact specifications. Manufacturers can use existing parts. Gunsmiths can complete builds more efficiently. Shooters can upgrade their rifles more easily. Using a trusted footprint helps make the building process smoother from start to finish.

Who Are 1934 Armory Bolt Actions Built For

Our bolt action receivers are built for shooters who demand performance. The ones who won’t settle for anything less than consistent accuracy in a proven platform. Our actions are made for the hunters and long-range competitive shooters who depend on a smooth bolt and dependable reliability. Our receivers are precision machined with exact tolerances so you can focus on the build instead of fixing accuracy problems. Our well-made bolt actions saves you time and helps give you the foundation of a truly accurate do-anything rifle. When every shot counts, consistency matters.
